Instruction
I am a classically trained pianist, actively playing publicly. I obtained my ARCT (Associate of the Royal Conservatory of Toronto) in 1973, receiving the National Gold Medal for the highest mark in Canada that year. I have been teaching for over fifty years.
I consider my studio to be a “Performance Studio”. It is for those students, and families, who wish to make piano studies one of their main priorities. Above average dedication, and a high playing standard are expected of all my students. My goal is to bring my students to an understanding of how to translate a musical score into a satisfying and integrated performance. A performance which is based on a fluent technique, intelligent score reading, stylistic understanding, and a realization and projection of the musical and emotional meaning contained in the notes. My students gain performance confidence and skills by performing frequently throughout the year.
